Madrid, Spain, 1976. Juan Manuel Macarro was exposed to art from an early age with formal photographic training beginning in 1995. Macarro collaborated with Metaphore Art magazine and after a year was nominated as Best Photographer (Metaphore Awards, 2006). Soon later, Macarro received several recognitions including National Prize of Professional Photography (2007/08) and Finalist in the "Clicks de Extremadura” national contest. His work has appeared in notable galleries abroad. The series titled Frágil ( a series of human vulnerability), exhibited at José de Ibarra Gallery (Barcelona), Deborah Gallery (Brooklyn) and Art Beijing (China) with a piece donated to ARTWALK NY by Coalition for the Homeless. Juan was also honored to donate artwork from the series Mystica to help raise funds for children with cancer at the Sant Joan de Deu Hospital in Barcelona.
Currently, Juan Manuel Macarro is an active fine art and advertising photographer, creating campaigns for beauty moguls LOEWE, Puig, and advertising for El País, El Mundo, Sony... Also is the founder and editor in chief of Clank! an international art and fashion magazine.
